9th
December 2013- organised by Neil Rabone
Library of Birmingham 7:00pm followed
by Frankfurt Market 8:00pm
Our December meeting was going to be broken into two sections:
Library of Birmingham – 7:00-8:00pm. Opened only this year it is a stunning
addition to the architecture of the area.
Guided tours of the Library were full booked, but we went on our own self-guided
tour using the brochure and maps provided and: http://www.libraryofbirmingham.com/article/visitorguide/visitorguidepdf
Frankfurt Christmas Market – 8:00-9:00pm:
This market has run for the last 12 years and has become a centrepiece of
Birmingham’s Christmas events.
The number of stalls seems to increase every year – with around 190 this year,
there was be plenty to see and opportunities to buy Christmas presents. We
partook in the German beer, Gulhwein, and kebabs. Although many serving staff
if foreign were polish rather than German?
