THE ACTIVE BLACK COUNTRY 41 (EX-ROUND TABLE) CLUB

Historical Glass Making Visit - Page 21

ABC 41 Club visited the last Glass Cone left in the Black Country, one of only 3 left in the UK

Here we heard how children as yound as 8 years old used to work inside the chimney, alongside men who never retired.

"We don't know we are born these days", said one member.

Well done Geoff for organising this interesting evening costing just £7.50 including a demostration, guided tours, followed by chocolate biscuits tea and coffee.  Then afterwards over the road to 'The Pie Factory' pub for some ale (although some of us were in there for beer and pies before too).
